The first Spring Madness Metalfest was dated on 19 may 2007.
The fest, at that time very small and unknown, had the concept of giving talented bands te chances they deserved.
Chances those bands didn't fully got elsewhere.
We wanted to give those bands the chance to have the experience of playing with a well known headliner.
The first edition proved that this concept was succesfull, as some bands like 'The Oblivions and Excalibur (Gitaron) made a great performance and created more gigs.
It was Excalibur in the first edition who played as headliner combined with a well known band called Crusader.
Everglow, a very talented powermetal band, was also in our program.
After the first edition we had very good reactions. That made us feel we needed to continue with this metalfest.
The second edition, dated on 17 may 2008, was created with much more intense work.
The concept was the same and the headliner for this edition was 'Double Diamond'.
Again Gitaron and Everglow had the chance to play at this amazing fest.
We had also the privilege of having 'Red Ocean', a very young talented band, in our program.
The second edition ended in a fantastic way and we immediately made plans for a third edition.
We took it to another level in the third edition and made it a 5-bands festival. SMM III, dated on May 16 2009, had Belgian Metal legends Killer as headliner.
Also Gitaron was in our program again. After a great performance at the previous edition they deserved to be there again.
A talented band called 'The Guardian' was also there with their smashing Power Metal.
Other bands who had the chance to play the fest: Poseydon and Peruvian Eyes. Bot very talented bands.
We made the stage bigger then the previous editions, so the bands could play in the best way possible.
A filming crew from a television station was there to capture all the great moments.
The fourth edition, dated on 22th may 2010, had again 5 bands in our line up.
We took it to a higher level by bringing international bands to our stage !
German powermetal band 'Mystic Prophecy' was our headliner !! Also the melodic powermetal band 'Mother Of Sin' from the Netherlands came to our fest !
Local band Gitaron returned to the fest after a stunning performance last year.
'Fireforce' (ex Double Diamond) and 'Peruvian Eyes' also played at SMM IV.
We kept the stage the same way as last edition. It was a very entertaining day with constant sun and high temperatures !
The fifth edition of SMM, dated on 28/05/2011, had Mother Of Sin as headliner !
They stunned everybody with their performance at the previous edition and deserved to headline this year at SMM.
And again, they played a stunning set !
We had more old school hard rock in the line-up with Civilian and Rebell Yell. Both very talented bands !
The Guardian also played our stage again and did it with the same energy as the last time they did.
Local band Gitaron also played our stage again.
The weather Gods wern't in our favoritesn as it did rain some time at this edition.
But that didn't take away the enthusiasm for everybody !
